The Store!
We’re very excited to have finally thrown the doors wide open. We worked like mad with Earthtone Construction (http://www.mindfulbuilding.com) to transform a space that was literally no more than two brick walls and a dirt floor when we started into our first location. Every step of the way, from paint, flooring and lighting to retail racks and furnishings, we strived to choose materials and finishes with the lowest-possible environmental impact.
You can see the results for yourself!

Cute Commute
Lousy picture of an adorable bike. This racy little number will be my transport from Geyserville to Healdsburg when weather permits. While I truly love my Grand Tour circa 1982 ( thanks Salvation Army) I think this Bianchi will be a bit more serviceable for my 16 mile round-trip daily trek. I am happily liberated from my car! Hello health benefits, economic benefits, and of course environmental benefits. My quality of life is sure to skyrocket, provided I don’t get clipped by a road hogging truck. Share the road peoples!
I am gearing up for a car free week. Maybe next month, I’ll keep you posted…

Trees Celebrated …. Somewhat Excessively
Many congregated at our store Saturday evening to honor eco chic’s debut. All enjoyed an atmosphere of unbridled bonhomie, thanks in large part to our signature cocktail the Verdant Virtue. For those who have requested, here is a recipe for the potent grog:
- 3 leaves mint
- 3 leaves basil
- 1 oz simple syrup
- 1/2 juiced lime
- 1 oz kaffir lime vodka
- 1 oz Chartreuse
Shake above ingredients aggressively then strain into tall glass with rocks. Top with Champagne, garnish with a rosemary sprig and feel like a woodland sprite in no time.
We are happy to report that the trees planted as a result of our party will help us offset Arboretum’s carbon impact for the next 8 years of business. To find out about offsetting your carbon impact by donating trees, visit americanforests.org.

snip, snip, HOOORAY
We enjoyed warm welcomes from the Healdsburg Chamber of Commerce at our ribbon cutting ceremony. They let us use the flashy giant scissors. Psst- they are actually plastic, don’t tell anyone.
You are cordially invited to drop by our Arbor Day Opening Party on Saturday the 28th from 4-7. We will be serving our signature cocktail the Verdant Virtue.... Virtue or Vice, you decide!
